Description: Characterized by pale brown body color with 20-25 dark-edged brown cross-bars, arranged in pairs; black caudal fin with pale yellow spots, encircled by white base and confluent outer margin; caudal rays 15-18; lateral line scales on eyed side 107-115; ctenoid scales; small eyes with narrow, scaled interorbital space; tubular anterior nostril shorter than eye; ventral edge of head with fringe of short cirri; protruding caudal fin, but joined to dorsal and anal fins; greatest depth 2.4-2.7 in SL (Ref. 90102).
