Description: Origin of anal fin is under base of second soft dorsal ray; both jaws with 1-2 rows of conical teeth; probably no teeth on vomer or palatines; maxillary oblique in position, vertical line through rear edge passing slightly in front of pupil; eye large at lateral in position, membraneously

attached to skin around eye; 2 pairs of nasal openings, 1 dorsally at front of eye, the other next to upper lip; premaxillary not protractile; head naked and predorsal area probably naked (Ref. 609).
