Occurs in the southern Baja California (Ref. 9997). Recorded from Lagunas Ojo de Liebre-Guerrero Negro (Ref. 96339). Of secondary importance to the Mexican shark fisheries; a very common catch in Veracruz (mostly juveniles) and Yucatan (mostly juveniles and adults); commonly caught in Tamaulipas and Quintana Roo (mostly juveniles); rarely caught in Campeche; probably caught in Tabasco (Ref. 13186). Marketed as fresh fillet or salt-dried; also for its liver oil, skin and fins (Ref. 26550). Also Ref. 244, 9997. |
