Type localities: Shelikof Strait, off Karluk, Kodiak I. USNM 48800 (lectotype of Sebastodes aleutianus); Yes Bay, USNM 57821 (holotype of Sebastodes swifti) (Ref. 87139). Known from the Bering Sea and throughout the Aleutian Is. to southeastern Alaska (Ref. 6793). Also Ref. 2850, 4925, 6876, 6885, 11366.
