This species contributes to the artisanal fish catches in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal (Ref. 4833). Present in Buxa, Adma and Jayanti rivers (Ref. 89719). Inhabits standing and running water (Ref. 45255). Also Ref. 43638, 45204.
