Comments: Type localities: ZMB 10602 (holotype of Anthias berycoides); Tokyo Bay, NHMW 76073 (holotype of Doederleinia orientalis) (Ref. 75154). Known from the Pacific coasts off Fukushima Pref., Honshu, and Suruga Bay, Tosa Bay to Okinawa Trough and the East China Sea. Also in the Sea of Japan from south of Hokkaido to Honshu (Ref. 76993). Caught in winter by trawl nets off the Sanin District, the coast of the Sea of Japan. Also Ref. 11230.
