Reported from Cape D'Aguilar (Ref. 33067); Sharp Island, Hoi Ha Wan, Tung Ping Chau (Ref. 94637); and Yan Chau Tong (Ref. 129329). Juveniles were recorded from Sha Ha (Ref. 125515) and Starfish Bay (Ref. 125536). The species was observed more than 200 occasions during 400 dive surveys on artificial reefs (Ref. 119494). Also recorded to occur on freshwater: Tai Ho and Sup Long streams in Lantau Island (Ref. 129476). One of the most popular species cultured in Hong Kong (Ref. 12092) and in floating cages (Ref. 12087). Also Ref. 55, 119714, 125586, 126271, 128523.
