Etymology: Labeo: Latin, labeo = one who has large lips (Ref. 45335);  falcipinnis: From the Latin falcicula meaning sickle and pinna meaning feather, fin; named after the shape of the last single and the first branched dorsal fin rays which are the lomgest and which are falciform (Ref. 12456).
