Within 24 hours after hatching, fully pigmented eyes developed. Length after 48 hours was 2.62 mmTL. Notochord was visible after 7 days. At this stage, between one and three melanophores appeared on the membrane surrounding the oil globule. After 8 days, the otoliths and pectoral fin buds became visible. After 10 days, eye pigmentation started to appear and a band of melanophores behind the oil globule developed (Ref. 71921). |

At 5 mm, a lateral melanophore line appears to develop. Pelvic fins are shorter and with shorter pigmented areas than in C. mustela(Ref. 75). At 23 days after hatching, the lower jaw was prominently protruding (Ref. 71921). |
