Upper and lower jaws are mildly elongated forming a beak-like structure. The lower jaw is slightly longer than the upper jaw. Minute teeth are seen on both jaws. The dorsal and anal fins are located at the posterior part of the body. Dorsal fin rays 18. Anal fin rays 24. Dorsal fin originates above the 6th anal fin ray. Caudal fin is subtruncated and marginal. Pre-anal finfold is present. Pectoral fin rays 10. Ventral fin buds emerge mid-way between the eye and the caudal base. Pigmentation: Prominent longitudinal rows of pigments about 5-8 are present.
