Comments: Spawn in fresh, shallow water, usually in grassy or weedy areas, also around stone piles, over algae and over naked granite, along windswept shorelines and rocky points (Ref. 4639). Spawning takes place usually during daylight hours possibly with peak activity between 1200 and 1500 hours (Ref. 4639).
