Oostethus jagorii (Peters, 1868)

Environment:  demersal; freshwater; brackish
Distribution:  Asia: known only from the Philippines (Ref. 5316). Reported from Okinawa Island, Japan (Ref. 30352).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205).

Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Specimens were collected from Ambacan River at Makinhas and Layog River at Balinsasayao, Leyte in 1993 (Ref. 7223). Museum: Samar, ZMB 6647 (including holotype, 88:4.75 - 16.65 cm SL). Also Ref. 94476.
