Family:  Tetrarogidae (Wasp fishes)
Max. size:  6.95 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 192 - 247 m
Distribution:  Western Central Pacific: Philippines.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 15-15; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-8; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 5-6; Vertebrae: 28-28. No spines on the lateral surface of the lachrymal nor on the lateral surface of the first suborbital bone (Ref. 41496). Second and third dorsal spines very elongate in larger specimens. Body with large irregular dark brown spots.
Biology:  Trawled over muddy bottoms.

Threat to humans:  venomous
Country info:  Known from Batangas, Balayan and Pagapas bays; trawled in 192-247 m over muddy bottoms (Ref. 35987). One specimen collected in 2011 during the Hearst Expedition (Ref. 95664).
