Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 15 - 329 m
Distribution:  Indian Ocean: Gulf of Martaban, Ganjam and Vizagapatam coast; Western Hindustan (Okhamadhi); Arabian Sea, Persian Gulf, Myanmar (Bay of Bengal).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 94-111; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 76-81. Maximum total length 14 cm (Ref 42535).
Biology:  Inhabits sand-mud bottoms; sometimes found on sand-and-broken shell bottoms (Ref. 9824). Feeds on benthic animals (Ref. 9824).
