Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 11-11; Dorsal soft rays (total): 29-32. Eye diameter 28-35% HL; interorbital width 23-28% HL; upper jaw length 37-44% HL; lower jaw length 45-53% HL. Anterior margin of snout broadly rounded from dorsal aspect; rounded chin; 3 pairs of mental pores, 1st pair close together, opening in a common pit on ventral aspect of chin; upper jaw enlarged without strong anterior teeth; spinous dorsal fin without scales; last well-developed pleural rib on 11th vertebra; lateral line without conspicuous white streak (Ref. 35863)
