Max. size:  30 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: India and northwestern Australia to southern Japan and the China seas.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found on the continental shelf (Ref. 75154). Dives into sand to sleep safely at night or to hide when alarmed (Ref. 90102).
