Family:  Pomacanthidae (Angelfishes)
Max. size:  20 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 15 - 40 m, non-migratory
Distribution:  Western Pacific: endemic to the Philippine Archipelago.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 13-13; Dorsal soft rays (total): 17-17; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 17-17. Description: Body dark with small blue dots; dorsal and anal fins margin narrow white to bluish; caudal fin yellow. Male head bluish grey extending to mid-dorsal of body. Female head and nape dull brown. Body depth 1.6-1.8 in SL. Scales longitudinal series 80-90 (Ref. 90102).
Biology:  Unknown, probably a coastal species (Ref. 9710). Feeds on sponges and tunicates. Rarely exported through the aquarium trade (Ref. 48391).

Country info:  Known from central part of the country, Cebu (Ref. 9710). Also Ref. 9137, 4839, 83651. Occasional sightings from Caban Island, Luzon (Ref. 90102).
