Environment:  demersal; freshwater; brackish; marine, amphidromous
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific: India to Australia and Taiwan (Ref. 7050). Also found in Japan and China (Ref. 559).
Diagnosis:  Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 8-10; Vertebrae: 26-27
Biology:  Inhabits inshore waters, sometimes entering fresh water (Ref. 9671). Feeds on crustaceans and small fishes. Marketed fresh (Ref. 12693).
