Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: only known from the outlet of Lake Lanao (Agus rapids), Mindanao, Philippines.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  The largest cyprinid species in Lake Lanao (Ref. 70969).
IUCN Red List Status: Extinct (EX); Date assessed: 01 January 2020 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Seven specimens, 13.3 - 17.6 cm, were collected by Herre in 1922 from the type locality, the rapids of the Agus, just below Dansalan bridge a short distance from Lake Lanao; caught using hook and line (Ref. 2929, 70969). Reported from 1986 survey by Mercene (Ref. 13446). No specimens were collected during the 1994 expedition (Ref. 10888).
