Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 154 - 500 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: Japan and adjacent waters of Indonesia, Indian Ocean.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-13; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 17-21; Vertebrae: 53-56
Biology:  Found on continental slopes and seamounts (Ref. 41299). Mesopelagic species (Ref. 75154).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 18 July 2019 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Collected during the Hearst Expedition 2011 done off Batangas and Mindoro, off SW Luzon. Needs further confirmation re its identification (Ref. 95664).
