Family:  Apogonidae (Cardinalfishes), subfamily: Apogoninae
Max. size:  6 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 18 - 37 m
Distribution:  Western Central Pacific.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 8-8. Description: Characterized by overall semi-transparent to reddish color; pair of diffuse dark bars on posteriormost part of body, first linking bases of last few dorsal and anal fin rays and second across base of caudal fin; greatest depth of body 2.6-2.7 in SL (Ref. 90102).
Biology:  Solitary or in small groups. Found in caves and ledges in 18-37 m (Ref 90102).
