Family:  Ambassidae (Asiatic glassfishes)
Max. size:  10.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater; brackish; marine
Distribution:  Asia and Oceania: Indonesia (from Sumatra to Irian Jaya) to Papua New Guinea. Reported from India (Ref. 45255) and the Philippines (Ref. 7223).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 8-8; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 9-9
Biology:  Inhabits brackish estuaries and lower reaches of freshwater streams, usually within about 10 km of the sea. Found in coastal areas (Ref. 45255).
