Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Guangxi, China.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-7; Anal soft rays: 14-15; Vertebrae: 40-43. Distinguished from all other species of Amblycipitidae by the following combination of characters: two patches of vomerine teeth; gill rakers 7-9; head large (head length 27.9%-34.9% SL; head depth 14.4-17.9% SL; and head width 22.4-29.4% SL; adipose fin low (4.6-6.0% SL); distance from dorsal origin to adipose origin short (25.7-32.0% SL); dorsal fin (21.2-24.9%SL), pectoral fin (18.4-20.7% SL) and pelvic fin (13.1-14.3% SL) long (Ref. 54505). Description: dorsal-fin rays i,6; anal-fin rays iv,8, 9; pectoral-fin rays i,8; pelvic-fin rays i,5, 6 (Ref. 54505).
