Max. size:  25 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 0 - 11 m
Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: Redondo Beach in southern California, USA to central Baja California, Mexico.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in eelgrass beds and in drifting algae, and off rocky shores (Ref. 2850). Some specimens have been captured by dipnet under a light at night (Ref. 2850). Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205). Minimum depth from Ref. 58018.
