Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: Japan to Taiwan.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 17-21; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 21-25. Body compressed. Caudal fin truncate in young and slightly emarginate. Caudal peduncle compressed, without a keel. Attains 1m TL.
Biology:  Oviparous (Ref. 205). Eggs may be found attached to objects in the water by tendrils on the egg's surface (Ref. 205).
