Environment:  demersal; freshwater; pH range: 4.7
Distribution:  Asia: known only from Kalimantan Barat, Borneo in Indonesia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-8; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 8-8. Differs from its congeners by the following combination of characters: headpores absent; second spine of first dorsal fin always longest but not filamentous; most conspicuous markings a large blackish spot across lower caudal fin base and a blackish band from first dorsal fin to belly; second dorsal rays I,8; anal rays I,8; pectoral rays modally 15; longitudinal scales 26-28; transverse scales backward modally 8; predorsal scales 9-11 (Ref. 56945).
Biology:  Inhabits blackwater streams (Ref. 56945).
