Max. size:  10 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; depth range - 2 m
Distribution:  Africa: Endemic to Lake Tanganyika, northern part of the lake.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Swims over rock bottom for long distances, alone or in pairs, instead of jumping from place to place between pebbles as S. erythrodon does. Feeds by picking microorganisms from the rock biocover (Ref. 6770).
