Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: at present known only from the Barito Basin in southern Borneo, Indonesia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 4-4; Anal soft rays: 47-54; Vertebrae: 49-51. Differentiated from all its congeners by its distinctively humped head (versus absence of a hump) and fewer serrae on the posterior edges of pectoral spine and articulated segments in mature males (3 serrae on spine and 2 or 3 on articulated segments versus 3 to 8 serrae on spine and 3-6 on articulated segments).
Biology:  Found in a shaded stream flowing through an area of abandoned fields.
