Max. size:  40.8 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine
Distribution:  Southeast Pacific and Southwest Atlantic: Chile, Argentina, and the Falkland Islands.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 12-13; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-14; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 6-7. Five dark blotches dorsally. Four to five spots on lateral part of body (Ref. 27363).
Biology:  Viviparous (Ref. 34817).
