Max. size:  1.38 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: Amazon and Paraguay River basins.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 4-4; Anal soft rays: 5-6
Biology:  Found in ox-bow lagoons which have stagnant water and bottom covered with leaf debris and other organic litter; also occurs in cut-off pond with murky water and bottom composing of mixed sand and silt with some organic debris.
