Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Coastal drainage of River Thua Luu about 55 km south of Hue in Viet Nam.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 13-13; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 9-9. Body with 12-15 dark bars, regularly shaped and set; complete black bar at caudal base reaching dorsal and ventral midlines; complete lateral line; processus dentiformis slender; axillary pelvic lobe not reduced; pelvic fin situated vertical to first branched dorsal-fin ray; body elongated and head depressed; small median incision in upper lip (Ref. 40772).
Biology:  Found in a stream with fast running water. Associated with Poropuntius deauratus (Cyprinidae), Pterocryptis cochinchinensis (Siluridae), and Schistura spiloptera. Apparently very rare.
