Max. size:  7.72 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: India and Sri Lanka.
Diagnosis:  Vertebrae: 35-35. Rasbora microcephalus is distinguished from all congeners from India and Sri Lanka by the combination of the following characters: axial stripe posteriorly broad, anteriorly narrow, faint; mouth superior; symphysial knob absent; ½ 4-5/ 1/ 1 ½ scales in transverse line on body; 29-32 pored lateral line scales on body; 15-16 predorsal scales (Ref. 84057).
