Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: Below Fall Line from Little Lynches River system (Peedee River drainage) in South Carolina to Satilla River drainage in Georgia, USA.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits sand- and silt-bottomed pools and runs of creeks and small rivers. Often occurs near vegetation (Ref. 86798).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 01 March 2012 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
