Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Red Sea. Zanzibar and Seychelles Islands.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 2-2; Dorsal soft rays (total): 24-27; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 24-28; Vertebrae: 19-19. Body width 2.0-2.7 in head length; body depth 2.0-3.0 in SL; head length 2.6-3.2 in SL; snout length 3.4-4.4 in SL; eye diameter 2.8-4.3 in head length.
