Max. size:  17 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; depth range 5 - 40 m
Distribution:  Africa: Endemic to the south end of Lake Tanganyika (type locality and Cape Kipimbi).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs deep down the rocky slope (Ref. 7343).
