Max. size:  22 cm SL (male/unsexed); max.weight: 135.3 g
Environment:  benthopelagic; marine; depth range 1 - 40 m
Distribution:  Western Pacific: Taiwan, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Singapore.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 10-11; Dorsal soft rays (total): 24-27; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 7-8. Small species with a moderately elongate body. Dark mottled pattern dorsally, creamy white ventrally; scale pockets on dorsal side of head and body with broad, dark margins; spinous dorsal fin black, pectoral fins grey, pelvic fins pale (Ref. 9772).
Biology:  Inhabits shallow coastal waters (Ref. 9772).
