Max. size:  3.7 cm SL (male/unsexed); 4.18 cm SL (female)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: Southern Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-10; Anal soft rays: 10-10. Distinguished by the following combination of characters: distinct, horizontal, dash-shaped markings on sides, one to three scales in length, forming four or five irregular rows; distinct, rounded spot on dorsal pectoral-fin base; absence of distinct swelling between urogenital opening and anterior base of anal fin in females.
Biology:  Inhabit streams.
