Distribution: | Western Central Atlantic: Mosquito Bank (off Nicaragua), Bahamas, Grand Cayman (Cayman Islands), Jamaica, Dominican Republic, and Tobago. Absent from the rest of the Caribbean. | |||
Diagnosis: | Body rich orangish-yellow in color. Snout with dark spots which may be large and bordered by iridescent blue. Pectoral fins pigmented. | |||
Biology: | Previously known from deep reefs but has since been found in shallow water (1-8 m). Territorial on reef tops (Ref. 9710). | |||
