Max. size:  144 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 475 - 1080 m
Distribution:  Western Central Atlantic: apparently restricted to the Gulf of Mexico, including eastern Florida (Ref. 114953).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found on upper and mid-continental slope (Ref. 114953). Oviparous (Ref. 50449). Eggs have horn-like projections on the shell (Ref. 205). Biology little known. Males reaches maturity by ca. 107cm TL (Ref. 114953).
