Max. size:  30 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range - 55 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Arabian Sea (southern Oman and Pakistan).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 11-11; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-12; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 10-11. Pectoral fins reaching to above third anal spine; body silvery with four broad black bars; two short narrow black bars ventrally in the first silver interspace on body and one on second; head with a black bar through eye; snout partly yellow (Ref. 11441).
Biology:  Occurs inshore, over rocky bottom.
