Family:  Rivulidae (Rivulines), subfamily: Cynolebiinae
Max. size:  12 cm TL (male/unsexed); 9.04 cm SL (female)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater, non-migratory
Distribution:  South America: Middle São Francisco River basin.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 15-18; Anal soft rays: 17-21; Vertebrae: 35-37. Supraorbital neuromasts 32-38. Dorsal fin of males with long filamentous rays. Scaled anal-fin base. Contact organs on inner surface of most or all rays of pectoral fin of male. Dorsal-fin rays 16-18 in males, 15-17 in females; anal-fin rays 19-21 in males, 17-20 in females; caudal-fin rays 32-35. Snout gently pointed with lower jaw slightly elongated (Ref. 40938).
Biology:  Bottom spawner, 4 months incubation (Ref. 27139).
