Max. size:  18.6 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine
Distribution:  Western Central Pacific: southern Queensland, Australia (Ref. 5297) and Papua New Guinea (Ref. 6771).
Diagnosis:  Scales ctenoid on eyed side of body, cycloid on blind side. Scales between lateral lines fewer (8). No obviously pigmented spots on eyed side of body (Ref 9895).
