Family:  Rivulidae (Rivulines), subfamily: Rivulinae
Max. size:  7 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater, non-migratory
Distribution:  Central America: Costa Rica and Nicaragua.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits swamps and ditches and slow moving waters of brooks and creeks between sea level and 1500 m elevation. Feeds on insects (Ref. 36880). Not a seasonal killifish. Is easy to maintain in the aquarium (Ref. 27139).
