Inhabits both temporary and permanent streams and swamps (Ref. 4903). Feeds on insect larvae and crustacea (Ref. 4903, 12526). Juveniles are found in interstitial pools in papyrus. Browses on plant tissues with ostracods, dipteran larvae, beetles, mollusks and debris (Ref. 28714). |
