Max. size:  12.55 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range - 18 m
Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: Galapagos Islands and from Bahía de Banderas in Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, and southward to Bahía Independencia, Peru.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Common among red algae and coral. Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205). Males may be brooding at 7.8 cm SL.
