Environment:  benthopelagic; marine; depth range - 3750 m
Distribution:  North Pacific: Japan eastward to British Columbia, Canada.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 2-2; Dorsal soft rays (total): 123-123; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 113-113; Vertebrae: 84-84. Caudal fin very narrow and pointed; pectorals long and narrow; outer rays of pelvic fins elongated (Ref. 6885). Dark brownish on posterior part of body and fins, not observed anteriorly; black on lower jaw, mouth, gill cavities and peritoneum (Ref. 6885).
