Family:  Gobiidae (Gobies), subfamily: Gobiinae
Max. size:  5.8 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 1 - 16 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Red Sea, Persian Gulf, and Zanzibar, Tanzania.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-11; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 9-10. Caudal fin rounded, shorter than head; pelvic fins separate, joined only at extreme base.
Biology:  Found on silty sand, rubble, or seagrass (Ref. 11441).
