Family:  Pomacentridae (Damselfishes), subfamily: Chrominae
Max. size:  13 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; marine; depth range 99 - 302 m, non-migratory
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: Apparently endemic to the Hawaiian Islands.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 14-14; Dorsal soft rays (total): 13-14; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 13-14
Biology:  Known only on the basis of specimens caught by a shrimp trawl in 99 to 183 meters (Ref. 7247). Life history characteristics for the family specify that this group is oviparous, with distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205). Males guard and aerate the eggs (Ref. 205).
