Family:  Catostomidae (Suckers), subfamily: Catostominae
Max. size:  61 cm TL (male/unsexed); max. reported age: 15 years
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: Lahontan basin in southeastern Oregon, Nevada and northeastern California, USA. Recently established naturally or through introduction into upper Sacramento River system in California.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in various habitats but most common in large lakes such as Lake Tahoe and Pyramid Lake in Nevada, USA. Also found in pools along lower reaches of streams.
