Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range - 1300 m
Distribution:  Southwest Atlantic: northward of the Falkland Islands.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 44-44; Anal soft rays: 38-38; Vertebrae: 47-47. Anterior part of the body is dark brown to black; caudal region light brown; peritoneum black; stomach white. Caudal 8. Rad. Pectoral 4, rounded, without notches. Two pairs of small pleural ribs. Hypural plate divided by a cleft. Head 26.3% SL; anteanal distance 38.6% SL (Ref. 41400).
